- You want the bigger free allowance: 10K credits on its free plan.
Choose AnyToMarkdown if…
- Your documents are standard reports, papers, contracts, handbooks, slides and spreadsheets.
- You want a flat price per document, whatever its page count, and fast conversion with no per-page AI cost.
- You also need web pages, e-mails, e-books, subtitles or notebooks in the same API, plus RAG chunks, token counts and an MCP server.
LlamaParse vs AnyToMarkdown

Try it on your own files
The fastest comparison is your own documents. Drop one into the free converter (no sign-up), then look at the headings, tables and lists. If it handles your files, the API is the same engine in one call.
Frequently asked questions
Is AnyToMarkdown cheaper than LlamaParse?
Per document it usually is once a file has more than a couple of pages, because LlamaParse bills per page and AnyToMarkdown bills per request. For 1-page documents on basic parsing, LlamaParse's $1.25 per 1,000 credits is lower than $2.00 per 1,000 conversions.
Does AnyToMarkdown use LLMs to parse?
No. It uses layout analysis and OCR, which makes it fast and predictable, and cheap per document. For layouts where only an LLM or vision model gets the structure right, use a tool built for that.
Can I use it with LlamaIndex?
Yes. Convert files with the API and feed the Markdown or chunks to LlamaIndex like any other text. See the Python RAG guide.
